On rink five Bob and Mary Cockell were joined by Denise Hart ,the score stood at 7-9 at half time ,but again the home team advantage proved to be too much and the final result was 13-17.
SO Tigers won on only one rink but Hazel and her boys had sufficient shots to win the shot difference for the team. The final score was 4-6 and 66-62 shot difference.
On rink six our Challenger team of Mike and Sandra Clark with Patty Sprawson struggled and despite collecting a four and a five won only six ends and lost the game 13-26.

Our Challenger side of Patty Sprawson, Rebecca Langan and skip Mike Clark were in the lead right up to the 16th end and looked good for the win. However, the Shields managed to score 8 shots over the last 2 ends to come out on top 15-19. Bad luck Tigers but a great effort all round.

The friendly game was won 26-7 by the Tigers team of David Bouttell, Frances Pont and skip Jak Logan. They were always in front and a strong performance from all 3 saw them comfortably through. Tigers v Bonalba 1/12/14 overnight rain left the match in doubt until 0830 Monday morning, with the Tigers team shivering in Teulada car park, awaiting the call to say the rink was wet but playable. And so at 0830 we headed south to experience the new Bonalba rink, only to lose on two rinks and the shot difference and the match 4-6.
On rink four Terry and Sheila Corner with Margaret Bailey won the first end and a close contest saw them at 11-11on the 13th end , the battle remained close with only five shots scored during the last five ends, then Terry and his team saw a Bonalba rub and run on the last end take the end and the match 13-14.
On rink five Clive Langan, Bob Tranter and Malcolm Sprawson ,despite dropping a five on the second end were leading 10-8 at the halfway stage, it was then nip and tuck until a three on the 17th. end took them ahead and despite losing the last end they won the match 16-14.
On rink seven Maureen How and Mike and Linda Smith never got to grips with the rink and despite winning on seven ends were relieved to reach the end of this tough match 12-30.
On rink eight Hazel Duke,Bob Bailey and Edward Teal, kept up their winning run ,playing on a part of the carpet rarely used in the past, they put in a superb display , never letting a strong Bonalba team into the match, they won eleven ends and the match 15-9 a great result from an in form team.
On rink six our Challenger team of Helen Baxter ,Patty Sprawson and Jak Logan , despite winning nine ends dropped a six and a five to lose 16-22.

Tigers v Javea Green Opals 23-10-14
NOT the best of days for the Tigers, loosing away to the Opals 2-8 , when a 6-4 victory would have taken us above them in the league.
Another sunny day but every one knows this is a difficult rink to take anything away from the Javea teams. On rink two Bob and Mary Cockell and Maureen How got off to a good start winning the first 3 ends to lead 4-0 and after 13 ends holding a 14-4 lead, but the experienced Opals team fought back to take the last 5 ends 8-0 which meant a 14-12 victory for the Tigers.
Rink 3 saw Clive Langan,Trefor Evans and Bert McLean playing a tough Opals team and with Tigers winning the first end things looked good, but the Opals played consistently well to lead 7-13 after 12 ends and despite the Tigers team taking a 5 on the fourteenth end to make the scores level at 13-13 ,the Opals took 5points to the Tigers 3 on the last 4 ends to win 16-18.
On rink four Bob Trantor ,Bob Bailey and Ed Teal again took the first two ends then struggled with weight to be 3-9 down after 9 ends and despite winning five of the last 9 ends the Tigers lost the game 9-16.
On rink 5 Mike and Linda Smith and Malcolm Sprawson again took the first end, but only picked up another 8 points and ended the match loosing10-22.
On rink seven our Challenger team of Rebecca Langan(skip) Patty Sprawson and Margaret Bailey never got to grips with a difficult rink loosing 29-9
Eddie Ansell Jak Logan and Mike Parry on rink one won 12 of the 18 ends ,including a 5 and a 6 , to win by 26-11 and be recognised as our team of the day , Eddie was presented with a Tigers pen.
Our final friendly on rink six saw Ernie Pope,Sheila Fairburn and David Bouttell suffering on their first experience at Javea Green to loose 8-34,well we´ve all been there Ernie ,and this is why we play friendlies whenever possible, home advantage is a great thing but half our games are played away.

So enough of that our next game is at HOME on Thursday 30th October ,versus Javea Green Quartz they can only produce one friendly.the team sheet will be on the notice board by end of Sundays club day ,so please tick off your names to confirm availability and lets´s go all out for ten points..

Jaguars v Tigers / Thursday 2nd October 2014

Following a defeat by the Lions, 3 days ago, the Tigers were away to the Jaguars and roared back to win 3 of the 4 games plus the overall shot difference and take the points 8-2. Well done Tigers!

The trio of Margaret Bailey, Sheila Corner and skip Terry Corner were never behind and won 18-12. At the half way stage it was 6-6 and then they gradually pulled ahead.
The trips of Mike Parry, Malcolm Sprawson and skip Clive Langan led 6-2 after 5 ends but a very strong Jaguars team pulled away to eventually win 11-18 after some close exchanges.
A highly competitive close game on rink 3 saw Bert McLean, Maureen Howe and skip Brian Doggett win 15-11. Only one shot difference after 15 ends saw some superb bowling by both sides with the Tigers eventually coming out on top.
After losing 3 shots on the first end the team of Ed Teal, Bob Bailey and skip Hazel Duke slowly clawed back the deficit to lead 11-10 on the 11th end. A 7 on end 12 pushed them ahead only for the Jaguars to take a 5 and a 2 to level scores 19-19 after 16 ends. A nail biting last 2 ends saw the Tigers through 23-20.
Our Challenger team of Sheila Lucas, Patty Sprawson and skip Rebecca Langan were drawing after 8 ends but some inspired bowling by the Jaguars meant they went down 10-25. A temporary glitch as they will be back.
Our friendly team consisted of David Bouttell, Ernie Pope and skip Ron Lucas. Well done on the 20-16 victory, especially as this was these players 1st time representing the Tigers. Losing 11-15 after 13 ends they fought back to take the honours.
In Mike Smiths absence, Vice Captain Bob Bailey, thanked all the teams for their efforts and look forwards to our next game, home to Calpe.

On rink four,Sheila Corner,Clive Langan and Terry Corner fought out a hard match, leading 10-7 after 8 ends ,but consecutive fours on 9 and 10 put the Lions 11 ahead and from then on the Tigers struggled to score, and eventually lost by 28-10 ,2 points to the Lions.
Rink five had the Tigers trio of Bert McLean,Maureen How and Hazel Duke up against a tough Lions team skipped by Jeff Richards,in a close fought match the Tigers were ahead 10-8 after 13 ends, they then dropped a 3 and a 4 and despite picking up two more two´s went down 14-16.The Lions Team won 10-0 well done to the Lions and well played the Tigers team.
