Benitachell Bowls Club

A very quiet week this week with only one Northern League Team playing and unfortunately that went the wrong way and the Jaguars lost 8-2 against Calpe. With no games for the Lions and the Tigers they still remain in 1st and 2nd place in the League Table with Javea Green Quartz hot on their heels in 3rd place with a game in hand.

No game either for our Winter League players which has enabled Emerald Isle to go back into top spot on 36 points. We have 33 points but two games in hand.

Well done to the International Squad who travelled down to Portugal to play them in a Test Match. Spain finished victorious and our BBC ladies played very well. Congratulations to Maggie Lawley, Carol Meare, Yvonne Briden and Mary Cockell (playing in her first International match).

The recently held Quiz Night saw the winners F & L Dunne, W.Symonds, R & H Baxter and T.Lawley receive a bottle of spirits each. They triumphed giving 86% of correct answers. What a brainy lot!! All 69 people enjoyed the evening which included as always an enjoyable meal provided by Ged and Paula. Some of the answers of the evening I believe depended on how many glasses of wine had been consumed.

Don´t forget our forthcoming Xmas Fayre to be held after Club Morning on Sunday 22nd November. There will be plenty of stalls and donations of cakes can be made on the day.
