Defibrillator Resuscitation Kit

Defibrillator Demonstration Video

With the club's defibrillator now installed in a green cabinet above the refrigerator in the library, it is recommended that club members familiarise themselves with how to maximise this vital life saving equipment in an emergency. To that end, can we encourage members to spare 5 minutes of their time to play the following video.

Note: The SAM 500P model is what we have at BBC although the colour of BBC´s defibrillator is orange. It is the same model as shown in the video.

It will certainly place your mind at rest as to just how easy it is to use this equipment and ultimately save a life!

Defibrillator and Oxygen Resuscitation Kit

Within two weeks of an appeal being launched at Benitachell Bowls Club to purchase vital life saving equipment, sufficient monies had been raised from club member donations to purchase a Defibrillator and Oxygen Resuscitation Kit. Our photo shows from left to right, Peter Emmett, Appeal Coordinator and Maria Morawiec, MD of Dragon Insurance and club sponsor, handing over the equipment to Rod Warnes, Club Premises Director.

BBC Defibrillator Appeal Update

Dear Members,

We did it! On Tuesday 4th September a defibrillator and oxygen resuscitation kit was delivered and installed at the club as well as the initial training of the first 8 club members in the use of this life saving equipment. The storage cabinet for the defibrillator is located in the library on the wall above the refrigerator. The oxygen resuscitation case is orange in colour and stored in close proximity.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and made this purchase possible, but we still welcome donations into the fund from those members yet to support the project. This will allow for the long term upkeep and maintenance of this equipment as well as facilitating additional first aid training of club members.

It is my earnest hope that the defibrillator will never require to be used, but in such an event wish to ensure that, as far as possible, the defibrillator is not used on a person who does not wish it to be used on them. To that end and should you NOT wish the defibrillator to be used on your person in an emergency (for example, for medical, ethical, religious or personal reasons) then please inform the Club Secretary by email or surface mail so that a record of this information can be recorded and displayed on the storage cabinet of the equipment. With these exceptions the defibrillator will be used if needed.

On a personal note, I have been overwhelmed by the positive response to the appeal, which has demonstrated both the generosity of club members as well as the sense of family and community that is still a great part of membership of the BBC.

Appeal Coordinator
