Cruise Around the Mediterranean

The M.V. Lucky Wick set sail from Benitachell on Saturday night with 55 passengers aboard. The ship was under the command of Captain Jonah Fizzy-Orange (a.k.a. Fred) who miraculously didn’t lose a single passenger all evening!

Thanks to everyone for the enormous efforts which they put into the table decorations. The Italian table, winners of the prize for the best dressed table, even had a replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa made by David Meare which was a wonderful piece of handicraft. The Spanish table was the most imaginative with a pile of tools, odd bits of wiring and builder’s rubble down the centre! Well done to everyone – it was a pity that there was only one prize.

The prize of 2 bottles of cava went to the Moroccan table for guessing the flags message.

Our entertainer was Alan Davies who kept us dancing throughout the evening. This was Alan’s first visit to the Club but hopefully not his last.

The evening’s peace was shattered when a screaming Annabel was taken hostage at “gunpoint” from the bar by the notorious Pietro Griffini, of the Les Fonts Mafia, who then proceeded to relieve the passengers of their jewellery.

All the passengers seemed to have enjoyed the evening and disembarked just after midnight.

Thanks to all who turned out on Saturday morning to help set up the courtyard and again on Sunday to return the Club to normal. Your help is always very much appreciated.
