The Spanish have three Kings but who ever heard of 30 Kings? At Benitachell Bowls Club on Saturday night they were all in attendance, dressed in their finest royal robes, along with several Lords and their Ladies (many in Kaftans and tiaras) all having travelled from somewhere in the East.

The Eastern theme was enjoyed throughout the meal which was followed by the ladies holding court and voting for their three favourite Kings for the night. The favoured Kings presented each of the ladies with a gift and then it was time for the dancing. James Hurst was on hand to provide the music and, amidst great hilarity, the party continued well into the night. Prior to the carriages being summoned a presentation was made by Peter Emmett to Liz Henningham and her team for organising the evening and providing all the wonderful costumes. Peter Emmett compered the evening.

Our photograph shows the winning King´s from left to right:- Malcolm Sprawson, (winner) Terry Quinton, (runner-up) Liz Henningham & Robin Baxter (in third place)
