2016 Valentines Day

What a great day, lots of fun and a lot of very good bowling.

B.B.C. ladies played against B.B.C. men in the annual St Valentines Day challenge. Team captains Sheila Fairbairn and Trevor Rush had balanced their team selections to ensure close and competative games and the results showed they had achieved this goal.

Despite some dubious tactics by some of the ladies, the men eventually scraped home to win and take possession of the much coveted vase trophy. (In future dance routines behind the head whilst the opposing skip is bowling will be outlawed.)

Weather was kind, our catering staff, as usual, gave us a great service. The bowls committee competition organisers did a splendid job as did all those involved with selling raffle tickets and sourcing and distributing the lovely plants (thanks Pauline).

My thanks again to Feli Croft and Neville Allen for standing in at very short notice.

I hope all that attended had a really fun day
