SUMMER TRIPLES AT BENITACHELL BOWLS CLUB
The Summer Triples started at BBC on the 4th May and was very well supported by BBC Club Members, Javea Green and El Cid. The following teams took part. Siete Arriba, mavericks, Much or Nettles, Round the Bend, Bring it on, Great Expectations, Hissing Cid, Dragons and Happy Days.
This was a fairly close competition with the final games seeing the Mavericks with 14 points, and Great Expectation with 12, Siete Arriba with 10 closely followed by Muck or Nettles and Round the Bend with 9.
As often happens the final games on Wednesday 6th July saw the Mavericks up against 2nd place Siete Arriba and Great Expectations against Round the Bend. The games went to the wire with the Mavericks eventual winners the players were Lynda Warnes, Rod Warnes, Harry Chick, Gail Chick, Mary Cockell and Bob Cockell. In 2nd place because of shot difference (and winning their game) Great Expectations consisting of Norman and Maggie Richardson, Janet and Trevor Neale and last but not least Linda and Mike Smith.
Much appreciation goes to Maria of Dragon Insurance who presented the prizes. She has sponsored the club for many years and is also an excellent bowling member.
